Stat System

Playable characters in Dark Town use this stat system to calculate their power in combat. Other creatures and characters use their own fixed stats and never changes during the game.

Main Stats

Strength (STR)

  • Strength represent the physical ability of the character.
  • Strength affect Physical Damage as a Primary Damage type.

Vitality (VIT)

  • Vitality represent the toughness of the character.
  • Vitality affect the total HP.
  • Vitality affect Physical Resistance.
  • Vitality affect Ailment resistance and duration.
  • Vitality affect Earth and Fire Damage as a Primary Damage type.

Soul (SL)

  • Soul represent the magical ability or the character.
  • Soul affect the total SP.
  • Soul affect the SP regeneration.
  • Soul affect Magical Resistance.
  • Soul affect Air and Water Damage as a Primary Damage type.

Luck (LCK)

  • Luck represent how lucky the character is.
  • Luck affect Critical Hit chances and multiplier.
  • Luck affect drop rate of items.
  • Luck affect Light and Dark Damage as a Primary Damage type.

Other Stats

Level (LVL) / Experience Point (EXP)

  • Level are earned by collecting Experience Point given by slain monster. (Higher the monster Level is, the more Experience Point it gives)
  • By leveling up the player gain additional points in STR, VIT, SL, LCK and HP based on the character.
  • There is no limit to Level but it will take a huge amount a Experience Point to level up pass LVL 100.

Hit Point (HP)

  • HP is your character health you die if it reach 0.
  • There is no natural HP regeneration but most of the healing items give you temporary HP regeneration instead of a fixed HP amount.

Soul Point (SP)

  • SP is your character Magic essence, casting spell consume SP.
  • You always have a SP regeneration based on your SL stat.

Damage and Resistance

((Base Weapon Damage * Weapon Proficiency) + Type Stat Bonus + Other Applicable Bonus) * Critical Multiplier

  • Damage is divided into 8 types with each is corresponding Resistance, except Arcane that will always do full damage.
    • Each weapon have a Primary Damage type and can have multiple additional Secondary Damage type, all Damage bonus (Stats or items) are only applied to the Main Damage type. (eg.: Molten Blade have Fire as its Primary Damage type and Earth as its Secondary; Bonus are only applied to the Fire Damage.)
    • Critical Hit multiplier is applied before resistance.

Resistance

Character start the game with 0% and gain a small amount depending of their VIT and SL stat. Equipping items is the only way to gain high Resistance.

  • Resistance higher than 100% mean that you will be healed by this damage type.
  • Resistance below 0% mean that you will take additional damage from this type.
  • Resistance range from -100% to 200%.
